London, 20 October 2008 - Firefly Communications, one of Europe’s leading independent PR agencies, has recently appointed former Yahoo! PR manager Grant Thomas as account director.
Leading some of Firefly’s business-to-business (B2B) accounts in the digital marketing, internet security and professional services areas, Grant brings with him over eight years experience in public relations, spanning the B2B technology, internet and corporate sectors.
Prior to joining Firefly, Grant worked for over two years as PR manager for Yahoo! UK & Ireland where he was responsible for the strategic planning and execution of the group’s PR programme focused on internet industry issues, advertisers and publishers.
Originally from Australia, Grant worked at independent PR agency Blackie McDonald for three years before moving to the UK. In this role, he led account teams for key clients such as Yahoo!, EMC, Fairfax Digital, ICANN, Iomega, and SAS Institute.
Prior to this, Grant worked for global PR agency Edelman Australia and independent agency Recognition PR. During this time he managed the press office function for Compuware, IBM, Maxtor, Rockwell and Telstra.
