Firefly new entrant to COI UK PR agency framework
London, 27 November 2008 - Following the recent Central Office of Information (COI) review of its Public Relations Framework, Firefly Communications has been added to the new framework of 32 UK PR agencies.
"We have a 20 year track record at the forefront of consumer, b2b and corporate PR, as well as experience with not-for-profit and public sector campaigns," said Firefly managing director, Mark Mellor. "This is our first time on the COI PR agency framework and we look forward to tendering for - and hopefully winning - front line campaign work over the coming years."
The overall COI framework of 89 agencies is broken down into various lots including UK, nations and regions, sport, and international. Firefly has been appointed to the UK lot.
Each year the COI runs numerous PR tenders on behalf of government departments and agencies. Under its revised Public Relations Framework, the COI has created a new format to ensure greater competition in the tendering process. For each tender, a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) is issued to every framework agency within the appropriate lot(s), and every agency has the opportunity to respond. Following this initial shortlisting process and based on the quality and suitability of responses, the COI typically invites three or four agencies to go to full pitch.
